The Compli-ScriptTM 1st strand cDNA synthesis Kit is a product offered by GeneToProtein. It is designed for both cDNA synthesis using Oligo dT or random primers from either total RNA or mRNA. The kit utilizes MMLV Reverse Transcriptase with reduced RNase H activity in an optimized reaction buffer. It can detect a wide range of RNA targets from 100 base pairs to over 6 kilobases.
Applications:
Heterologous expression: cDNA that codes for a specific protein can be transferred to a recipient cell for expression, often bacterial or yeast expression systems .
Gene discovery: cDNA libraries are useful in reverse genetics where the additional genomic information is of less use. cDNA library is useful for isolating gene that codes for particular mRNA .
Gene cloning: cDNA can be used to express the eukaryotic genes in prokaryotes .
miRNA profiling: cDNA has a spectrum of applications in cDNA library construction, gene discovery, gene cloning, and miRNA profiling .
